598

Congratulations to the University of Indianapolis Class of 2024! We asked our newest alumni to share their UIndy experience and their post-graduation plans. Meet Madison Phillips, who recently received her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Sport Management!

Why did you pursue your bachelor’s in marketing and sport management?

I enjoy sports and the world of business, I can’t see myself doing anything else!

Why did you choose UIndy?

I chose to study at UIndy because I was recruited to play on the Women’s Lacrosse team.

Were you a part of any extracurriculars on or off campus? If so, what were they, and what was your role?

I was one of the 2023-2024 captains and a defender for the UIndy Women’s Lacrosse team.

During your time at UIndy, did you have the opportunity to complete an internship or earn part-/full-time employment with an organization in your field? If so, what was it and how did it help you professionally?

I was the assistant program director for Homegrown Lacrosse in the summer of 2023 and it showed me I can handle the long hours being in the sports industry requires.

Did you receive any honors or awards from UIndy or other organizations? If so, please tell us about them!

I was on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and the UIndy Dean’s List.

What are your plans after graduation?

I plan to coach women’s lacrosse at the collegiate level.

What is one of your favorite memories from your time at UIndy?

Winning the National Championship with my team during my sophomore year!

What advice would you give to incoming students?

I would advise incoming students to pick what they are passionate about. Homework is a lot easier when you enjoy the topic.
